What types of crushers make it possible to have 0/14 or 0/20?
1 answer
Hello,
It's a big question. Which deserves clarification.
Many grinding technologies can achieve the particle sizes you require. The approach to determining the right type of crusher is as follows:
1 - The product to be ground: hardness, grindability, shape, material, humidity etc...
2 - Input particle size: grinding technologies are limited by maximum reduction coefficients, for example with an impact crusher you can go up to 7, but this will vary according to the particle size distribution. if you already have products that are almost the size of the final products, or if they are much bigger, or if there are large ends etc....
3 - The process: where is the grinder located in the process, is there recirculation or not, are there other grinders in the process, is there screening etc...
4 - The flow rate: this is an important factor, because some shredders can do the job, but they can either be completely oversized (which regularly happens in products from recycling) or undersized.
5 - The purpose of the products: what will your products be used for, concrete, road, embankment, other? some crushers are used to correct the shape which is useful for road products, others will produce a lot of fines perhaps unwanted for your final product
The easiest way is to draw up specifications and discuss them with manufacturers.

What is the difference between crushing and grinding?
Last response: We rather speak of crushing for the coarse particle size reduction (exp: from the quarry block to granules of a few millimeters), and of grinding for the particle size reduction in the powder phase. Read more
