What is the difference between reverse osmosis and ozonation for water treatment? Which method is the most effective?
3 answers
Sir,
Reverse osmosis allows 2 actions:
1) Retain the micro-particles present in the water.
2) Retain bacteria present in the water
For these 2 actions, we have the following results:
- 99% is an order of magnitude of what is captured and thrown down the drain
- Treatment at each passage through the osmosis unit
- Discharge of water during treatment.
Ozonation is a treatment that is launched to kill a very large part (99.999% or even 99.9999% of the quantity of bio-elements present in the water). It is not permanent, but is carried out at a frequency adapted to the need. Ozonation does not provide any water filtration.
These are two very different treatments. There is no better treatment than the other. there is simply a suitable treatment for every need.

Reverse osmosis is filtration while ozonation is advanced oxidation. For more info, contact me: thomas@zonosistem.com/0034684413626
Hello
Depending on the quality of the water (loading of organic matter, molecules), the desired purification, the treatment channel, one or the other of these 2 treatments are implemented. They can also be coupled, to optimize the process.
